Exploring Yoga Foundations Workshop:
In this monthly workshop, we will explore some of the deeper benefits of yoga that will enhance your practice, or if you’re new to yoga, offer you a strong foundation from which you can begin your yoga journey.
Each month, you will learn the benefits of kriya through practicing different methods of pranayama (disciplined breath), mantra (chanting), meditation, and more. We will focus on the different ways in which asanas (poses) are incorporated into yoga, by experiencing various styles of yoga during each workshop, such as Vinyasa, Kundalini, Gentle, Hatha, and Yogalates, and the benefits each style offers. We’ll take time, that is not always available during a regular class, to learn modifications, ways to use props, and explore correct alignment and body mechanics.
We’ll end each workshop with a guided meditation in Savasana (lying in repose), and a gong bath or soothing music, to leave you feeling rested and reenergized.
There are many paths to follow in yoga. In this 1 1/2 hour monthly workshop, I hope you will discover new pathways to learning, so that you can experience your yoga journey in the most fulfilling and beneficial way possible.
Bring a mat (or borrow a studio mat), hand towel, and water, and wear comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement. Cost is $20 walk-in, or regular class cost for members of Mt.
